Meditation is traditionally defined as a method to unwind the body and mind. Due to meditation’s mediocre teaching techniques, many youngsters find it boring to learn about it. Therefore, their inclination is to dismiss it. Yet some intelligent youths have an awakening towards meditation. As I went deeper into meditation, I acknowledged many questions. It is surprising that it’s all a part of our culture, given how long we have been away from it. Only one facet of Indian culture has been highlighted to us so far: Bhakti (worship). I found meditation to be a practical approach to spirituality. But why does it matter to us, and why do others keep recommending meditation? Let’s go into the roots of Indian culture that gave rise to this phenomenon.
Meditation And Its Power
We all practice a different faith. People are urged to worship their god in all major religions. In India, everyone is familiar with the two highly sacred Hindu texts: the Ramayana and Shrimad Bhagvat Geeta. These texts also mention the practice of meditation in that era. Not only that, many Indian deities reveal the power of meditation like Lord Shiva. Most of his bodily interpretation are made in a way where Mahadev is in Dhyaan. Even lord Hanuman meditates about Lord Rama and manifests to meet him since birth. When Rishi munis or priests meditated during the Vedic period, they became able to gain extraordinary powers known as siddhis. With the power of meditation, they could manifest anything. There are several popular stories about how Yogis and even Asuras used to win the favor of various gods with their tapasya.
Connection Between Tapasya And Meditation
What is tapasya? It’s merely a form of meditation. Now the glaring point is how tapasya, which is supposedly about depriving our bodies of lust and comfort, can be considered meditation. Some describe tapasya as the generation of heat and energy. However, others describe Tapasya as a form of intense meditation and a proven method for wish fulfillment. Both definitions are linked together as Meditation is nothing but channelizing cosmic energy. Therefore, it is not a myth when we are told that practicing meditation will enable us to materialize anything. For a long time, our ancestors have been doing this. Just like we are taught to worship, we must know how to meditate. Meditation is regarded fashionable by those who did not pick it up early from their culture. It is the fundamental building block of reaching out to the higher self which is a gift from our rich Indian culture. There are plenty of examples to quote.
Asuras And Rishimunis
Asuras used tapasya, or intense meditation, to fulfill their wish. The Rishimunis have asked for such wishes that are for the good of the world. The Rishimunis have asked for such wishes that are for the good of the world. While Asuras have asked for wishes for selfish reasons. Ravan, for example, received a boon of immortality unless hit on the navel. Well, we can’t blame them. It all depends on the tendency of the individual. If your intentions are good while meditating, nothing can harm you; if it is otherwise, a Rama will put an end to your Ravana.
How To Meditate
We have been given meditation, packaged in a western style. But in reality, it is our very own—Dhyaan. As we have just established the importance of meditation, the next step is figuring out how to do it and manifest our wishes. First of all, just sit somewhere in a quiet place. Cross your legs, lock your hands together so that your fingers get hold of each other, and close your eyes. Just take a few deep breaths and tell yourself to unwind. Now all you have to do is focus on your breathing. Seems easy, right? However, as you begin to follow this, your mind will wander to various thoughts, and you will not be able to completely concentrate on it. This is completely natural. It will take a lot of practice to remain focused. Try to meditate for as long as you can. When you’re done, simply rub your palms with each other and put them on your face for five seconds. Now, slowly, you can open your eyes. This is the typical method of meditation.
Purpose Of Meditation And Manifesting Your Dream
Now that you know how to meditate, you might be wondering how to make your desires or dreams come true. So allow me to introduce this phenomenon to you. Energy plays a crucial role in meditation. Your energy flows to achieve whatever you think about or focus on while meditating. Meditation can be done for different purposes. The two most important purposes of meditation are to release stress and manifest your dreams. When you focus on your breaths while meditating, you try to live in the present. This is because you can only focus on one thing at a time. And focusing on your breath takes your attention away from any other stressful thoughts, which breaks the loop of tension. The other thing you can do while meditating is put your focus on your wish or desire to manifest it. Try to visualize it. Think as if you received it. Feel like you have it. Through this process, you attract your desires, and they will come true. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself. You will see the changes because I have.
Conclusion
There is lot more to explore about meditation. Yet the most important thing is to take the first step. You may have various experiences during meditation which are surreal. You will get back to your inner happiness. Meditation provides you the opportunity to connect with your higher self. That connection gives you the power of intuition. These all are very real which has been mentioned in our ancient Indian texts. Just that we have grown a distance with our original culture due to various advents. But it’s time to reconnect. Just like you worship the god, meditation is also important for your spiritual growth. It’s a path to reach the supreme. Try to meditate for only ten minutes and see the difference.
